This is my recent article on "No hands but ours". So happy we said "yes", Joy!

Our adoption milestones

June 18, 2014 - followed God's call to adopt!

July 21, 2014 - Application received at CCAI

August 1, 2014 - Accepted into CCAI

August 8, 2014 - started compiling our Dossier documents

August 19, 2014 - first home study at Catholic Charities in Nashville, Tn

August 20, 2014 - Justin started online parent training

August 21, 2014 - locked in file with CCAI for Joy. (Justin's birthday)

August 24, 2014 - emailed LOI to CCAI

August 26, 2014 - CCAI sends LOI to China for pre approval

August 26, 2014 - Justin and Allison's physical

August 26, 2014 - Justin finishes 12 hours of parent training.

August 27, 2014 - Allison started parent training

September 2, 2014 - 2nd home study at Catholic Charities in Nashville, Tn

September 2, 2014 - PA from China!!!!

September 12, 2014 - 3rd and FINAL home study. This time at our home!

September 14, 2014 - Allison finished parent training!

October 29,2014 - home study completed, reviewed by us for approval, reviewed by CCAI, mailed to USCIS for approval for us to adopt.

November 17, 2014 - received biometrics appointment of Dec. 1, 2014 in Nashville, Tn

December 1, 2014 - fingerprints taken at Homeland Security, home study certified at Davidson County Clerk's office, 9 dossier documents authenticated at the Secretary of State

December 7, 2014 - we received our immigration approval to adopt from China.

December 8, 2014 - trip to Nashville to have the immigration approval authenticated (notarized and certified in Carroll county)

December 9, 2014- mailed the dossier off to the Assistant Stork courier service.

December 15, 2014 - Received the news that the physical form had to be copied, notarized, certified and authenticated AGAIN due to a notary error. (Lined through and initialed error that would have been fine, but the Chinese embassy changed the rules and we were the first to find out the hard way. Heartbreaking set-back.

December 16, 2014 - trip to Nashville, Tn again to have physical authenticated. (Notarized and certified in Carroll county)

December 16, 2014 - mailed off form to assistant stork again by Express mail.

December 29,2014 - assistant stork emailed stating that a few copies were off center and needed to be corrected. They took them and copied them for us. They were taken back the next morning.

January 7, 2015 - our dossier was mailed to CCAI Georgia office for critical review

January 19, 2015 - dossier was sent by 2 day Fed Ex to the CCAI headquarters in Centennial, CO.

January 23, 2015 - Dossier to China!!! (DTC)

January 28, 2015 - LID! Our dossier has been logged in at the CCCWA!

February 21, 2015 - I-800 mailed to CCAI

March 17, 2015 - Out of translation and into review room with our dossier! (Day 48!)

April 2, 2015 - our dossier came OUT of the review room!!!

April 9, 2015 - SOFT LOA!

April 13, 2015 - Received pdf copy of LOA. Signed, scanned and emailed it to CCAI.

April 14, 2015 - I -800 sent off for approval.

April 15, 2015- I-800 hit lockbox in Texas.

April 27, 2015 - I-800 provisional approval

May 1, 2015 - received GUZ by emailing the NVC

May 7, 2015 - filled out the DS-260

May 7, 2014 - submitted all paperwork to have Article 5 drop-off in Guangzhou, China

May 11, 2015 - Article 5 drop-off at the US consulate in Guangzhou, China

May 26, 2015 - Article 5 pick-up at the US Consulate in Guangzhou, China. (Then overnighted to the C3WA)

June 2, 2015 - Travel Approval!
