This blog was created to document the process of adopting our little girl, Joy Jiao. We want her to have a story to read when she gets older of our journey to bring her home. We already love her. By reading the story, I hope she understands when she was in her orphanage that we wanted her here and were preparing our hearts, home, family and small town for many blessings!!!! We love because He first loved us. 1John 4:19
She may not have our eyes, but she will always have our heart.
She may not have our eyes, but she has our heart.

We would like you to "meet" our daughter!
With great JOY and love, we would like to announce we have our daughter in China!!!! We still cannot believe it! On August 21, 2014, we found our china doll. That date is special because it is also Justin's birthday!!! Her name will be Joy Jiao Williams. She is five years old and lives in the Nanyang SWI (orphanage) in Henan, China. She captured our hearts with her little round face, perfect little nose and the most beautiful almond eyes I have ever seen! We are totally in love! We received a pre approval today from China! We are sending her a care package soon to let her know she has a family! We will include pictures labeled in Mandarin of who we are or what the picture depicts. China will not inform her she has a family until a few weeks before travel. We take it as an honor to be able to tell her she has a mama, baba, two ge ge's and a jie jie. ( I hope I got that right!) she is almost Eli's size weighing in at 39 lbs and is a .5" shorter that he is currently. She is extroverted and loves MUSIC. She eats congee, steamed bread, vegetable juice, meat and apples almost everyday. She is perfect for our family. We started on her room this weekend. It is coming along. The kids are ecstatic! They cannot wait to have her home. She is framed in our home and we all catch ourselves standing around her photos just staring at her! She will know no English, but will attend a year of preschool with me and then attend HPS! We are ESTIMATING travel to be March through June. It depends on how much waiting we encounter. We will have to stay 14-17 days in Beijing, nanyang then Guangzou (spelling?). We have our part of the dossier finished!!!! :) Our caseworker was amazed at our dedication to this process with three kids! :) what can we say? Love crosses oceans! I have to mention when I show someone her picture I get the "parent" butterflies. I get so excited to share her photo and see the reaction. I cannot wait to bring her home!!! Pray for our girl!
