On Monday, we had our biometrics appointment (fingerprints) at Homeland Security in Nashville. Through the mail give us the date and time to be there. Our appointment was at 8:00 am. We left the house at 5:30 am bright and early. It felt like we were leaving for vacation! Each step is a step closer to having you home!!! We made it early and waited outside until the doors opened. The officers were very friendly and we were out of there in 10 minutes! Awesome! We head downtown to the county clerk's office to have our home study certified in Davidson County.
That took about 5 minutes! We were excited. Next, we have to go to the secretary of state's office in the middle of roundabouts and one way streets. Suri kept taking us in a circle. We had lots of laughs about that...for awhile. Haha! We finally found the building and parking. Parking? We are from the country. How do you work those darn things anyway??
We finally figured it out and got to the office. We had our 9 dossier documents authenticated and we were on our way to Christmas shop! We had a great day with lots of memories!!! Tonight we sat down to try to wrap our heads around what to do when we get our USCIS approval. Sending off that dossier requires way more than mailing them off. We have to hire an adoption courier, somehow make copies, send things to our agency in Colorado, etc etc etc. I honestly can't wrap my tired head around any of it! It is DIFFICULT to say the least!!!!!! Maybe between us, our adoption friends and our awesome agency, we can figure this out! Maybe! Christmas is not the "perfect" timing to be doing this, but it is His Plan, so we will follow. Five months is being counted down! Eli asked me yesterday, "will Joy be home in 17 days"? Sure would like to think so!
