Bring on the rain

He comes to us as the showers; as the spring rains water the Earth. Hosea 6:3 

When  we left the hotel on the morning of June 15, 2015, we left with umbrellas in tow. I silently prayed on and off through anxiety on the 15 minute ride. This was it. This was the day the Lord made for you to finally come home. That rainy day was such a blessing. Our bus pulled up to the Civil Affairs building and through clinging rain drops on the window, I could see the outline of the most beautiful girl in a purple dress - the dress we sent to you in March. You were waiting. As if you haven't waited long enough for your forever family, you clung to every hope that we would soon arrive. It was your first act of trust; you knew we were coming. You saw the bus pull up and you darted away in excitement. With everyday that it has rained since that day, it brings me back to the day we were united together forever. 

We celebrated the Fourth of July yesterday and had a blast! You loved the fireworks  and sparklers! 

We had BBQ, shrimp boil and the trimmings. You loved it all, but seemed too excited to eat much. You got to swim and the pool was freezing! We left and went to our neighbor's for a big fireworks show. After the large display it was time to trek down the long driveway to go home. The rain started to beat 

down and DRENCHED US.  Giggles quickly turned to laughs; that was probably the most fun thing that happened that day.

The rain is a beautiful thing. 

God sent it the day we had you forever, safely in our arms. When rain mixed with giggles, it brought me back - back to a day I want to always be brought back to. 

The day freedom would quickly be yours mixed with unending love. We love you, Joy! I hope you enjoyed celebrating your first Independence Day as an American citizen.
